On the occasion of the opening of the exhibition Modern Architecture Kuwait: 1949 – 1989, Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah will be organising and hosting a series of Architectural debates with local and foreign practitioners. This series intends to deepen the knowledge of the Kuwait’s national architecture production, and to foster a greater appreciation towards the preservation of our collective heritage.
The second debate will feature Yannis Kitanis, an Athens-based practicing architect as guest speaker, Aziz al-Qatami, principal of Atelier Aziz Alqatami and Sara Saragoça Soares, co-author of Modern Architecture Kuwait: 1949 – 1989, and will revolve around the topic “The Image of the City.” The debate will take place on Sunday, 17 April, starting 7pm at the Yarmouk Cultural Centre.
